Upcycled Gemstone Burnt Orange Statement Earrings

Beautiful smoky-orange stone beads are paired with the metallic beauty of hematine* in these long dangle earrings. The stone has darker swirls of red through its orange base color, which lightens to almost an apricot in certain lights.
Materials:

- new hematine* 8mm beads
- new nickel-free ear wires
This unique set of earrings uses gemstone beads repurposed from a large stone necklace. Based upon the way the sunlight shines through the orange stones, they are likely some type of agate.
These earrings hang 2 3/8 inches from the top of the earwire. Bear in mind that the earrings have two stones apiece, so they will be on the heavier side.
As with all of our repurposed beads, these stones were previously part of another piece and have some imperfections and signs of wear that show on close examination.
*Much (but not all) of the material commonly sold as hematite is actually hematine (a.k.a. hemalike) -- an artificial form of hematite. Real hematite looks more like stone (with grain and color variations) and is more brittle than imitation. Real hematite is not magnetic. A small handful of our upcycled designs make use of hematine.

Threader Details:
All of our threader earrings are made using a length of smooth thin box chain (less than 1mm thick). The chains are long enough to thread through multiple piercings if you wish, and they do not have a bridge wire, which gives the wearer full control over their length. Although most people find that they don't need backings for threader earrings, we ship clear plastic safety backings with every pair.
